~ Something New for 2012 ~
On the months that have
5 Sundays, we will only have one service on that 5th Sunday at 10:00
a.m.
One service at 10:00 a.m.
on: January 29 April 29 July
29 September 30 December 30
The Kids Choir will sing during each of those services and
After each of those services, we
will have a potluck! This will allow everyone to worship
together in the same service and enjoy fellowship and food afterward!

New Procedure For
Purchasing
|

Beginning January 1,
2012, anyone wanting to make
purchases from the church finances are required to fill out purchase order form.
The committee chair person, as well as the finance chair MUST sign the form PRIOR to
buying/ordering items.

| New Member Classes will
begin on Sunday, January 8 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. They will run for 5 weeks. Please call the
church office at 348-2974 or let Pastor know, if you plan to
attend. |

Confirmands:

| Confirmation Classes will
begin on Sunday, January 8 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. They will run for 5 weeks. These classes are for
anyone in the 7th - 12th grades. Please call the church office at 348-2974 or let Pastor know, if
you plan to attend. |

A Bible Study For
Men:
|
| A Men’s Bible Study
on the "Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper"
will be held on the following Mondays at 7 p.m.: January 30, February 13, February 27, March 12,
March 26, April 16 and May 7. |

For Mary Ruth Circle:
|
| Mary Ruth Circle will meet
at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8 at Coye Taylor’s home. Bring 2 Valentines cards that will
be sent to shut-ins. Lunch is on your own, but tea and dessert will be provided. See you
there! |

For Joy Circle:
|

Joy
Circle will meet at 10:00 a.m. on
Thursday, February 9 at Dawson/Stevens for Brunch and Meeting. Please let Barbara Greene know
if you will be attending so we can make reservations. Remember...if school is canceled due to
weather, we will not meet.

For Elderberries (or Anyone):

| Elderberries will meet
on Wed., February 15 at Noon in the Fellowship Hall. We’ll be enjoying a DVD of the 2011 Annual
Bay View Handbell Concert. Songs will include, "Amazing Grace", "Tennessee Waltz", "Nightingale",
etc. All are welcome. This is a potluck, so bring a dish to share and your own table
service. |

| Need Names of Youth that Play
Sports? |
| We need
everyone’s help in listing what youth from MMUMC
are involved in winter sports and other activities. Call the church office
or Julia @ 348-1992. |

Help
wanted:
If you are over 15 years old, can read,
and operate a computer mouse, you have the essential skills to run the computer/projection system in the 11:00
worship service. If you can help out periodically please sign up on the sheet located on the table outside
the sanctuary doors. We will help you learn what to do before the date you have signed up for. If you have
any questions please see or contact Bob Sturm at 745-8081.

Educational Opportunities:
For Children: K & 1st grades and 2nd to 5th grades we have Sunday School class
during the 11 a.m. service.
For Youth: 6th to 8th grades and 9th to 12th grades we have Sunday School class
during the 11 a.m. service.
The Adult Sunday School Class meets at 10:00 a.m. and is learning through a video series called,
"World Religion". All are welcome & encouraged to attend.

For Those Interested in Kids Choir:
Kids Choir Practice will be on Sunday's from 10:15 to 10:50 in the Kindergarten Room. Kids
Choir is for children ages 4 yrs old to 5th grade. The first practice will be Sept. 19. The first time we
sing for church will be October 10 at 11 a.m. If you have questions call Lorna at 858-3144.
New Opportunity for Children (newborn thru
four) and Families:
Please enroll your
child/children, ages newborn thru four, into our "Cradle Roll" Program. They will receive a certificate, a gift
each birthday and a gift each Christmas and more. This is a special way we will have of nurturing your young
children and your family with the love that Jesus meant for each of us as we grow in faith. You can enroll your child/children in the
following way:

form in the

Outreach Communications Coordinator Needed: Would you be interested in assisting to do publicity, articles and
media communication for important church events? If so, please contact the church office at
348.2974.

For
Anyone:
WELCOME BREAD: We are in need of more bread for the "first time visitors". If you
like to make bread you are invited to make some small loaves for the welcome table. Wrap the bread in Saran
wrap and then again in foil. It can be any kind of bread. You can bring the bread to the Welcome table on
Sunday morning or leave it in the freezer in the Kitchen Pantry.

For Anyone:
Welcomers Needed: The Nurture and Outreach Team is looking
for people to help at the welcome table on Sundays. All you have to do is can give approximately 10 minutes
of your time after the service by welcoming visitors, giving them a welcome folder and a loaf of friendship
bread. Volunteers are needed for each service. See the sign up sheet at the table if you are
interested.
