Michelson Memorial is dedicated to reaching outside our church to our
community and our world. We actively support that effort by contributions of our resources of time, energy
and money to these worthy causes:
-
Crawford County Christian Help Center - not only do our
members volunteer there time at the Help Center, but we actively support it with donations of money,
food, clothing, and other items needed to help those in the community who are in
need.
-
Operation Christmas Child - by filling shoe boxes with school
supplies, hygiene items, candy, toys and a personal note that is sent to children around the world,
we take the gospel of love to those who may never have received a gift or heard of
Jesus.
-
Toys for Tots - One of the recipients of our Gifts For The
King Sundays in Advent, this ensures that needy children in our community will receive a Christmas
toy.
-
Riverhouse Shelter - Another recipient of our Gifts For The
King Sundays, these items help those who have sought shelter from abusive situations. We also donate
to Riverhouse throughout the year with special gifts.
-
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief ) -- Currently,
UMCOR is supporting United Methodist Hospitals in Africa as well as other clinics, providing
assistance with other churches for relief needs in Gaza. They also provide other international
disaster relief. Domestically, they have provided relief for victims of the Kentucky ice storm,
Midwest flooding, hurricane relief and California brush fires, to name a few.
-
Home Touch Ministry - Our "angels" reach out to members of our
Christian family who are homebound, with visits and phone calls to brighten their lives. They carry
with them the message of God's love and the treasure of His word.
-
American Cancer Society Relay for Life - Our team regularly
participates in the annual Crawford County Relay For Life event.
